Monsoon showers bring respite from humid conditions in Jammu

People in the winter capital heaved a sigh of relief with first showers of the Monsoon hit the Union Territory thus dipping mercury and bringing respite from humid conditions.
Jammu for the past one week was reeling under the hot and humid weather conditions as the temperature was between 36 degrees to 40 degree Celsius.
The residents have a pleasant evening with heavy cloud hovering followed by first rain of the Monsoon season.
The IMD (J&K) has already predicted that Monsoon to hit Jammu and Kashmir during June 24-25, which is six days ahead of the normal arrival date in the state which is June 30.
The conditions are favourable for further strengthening of the monsoon in Northern and central India during coming few days, said the IMD adding that as per the forecast issued, the national weather Service Provider, India is expected to receive normal monsoon rainfall from June to Sept.
An IMD official said that light to moderate thundershower took place over fairly widespread places of Jammu and Kashmir including Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Udhampur, Katra, Jammu and South and Central Kashmir.
The department has forecast mainly clear sky to partly cloudy sky for Monday.
On June 28, Jammu recorded maximum 38.2 degree Celsius and the minimum was 28.3 degree Celsius.
