Lockdown relaxation: Admin allows more shops to open

The Administration on Monday extended till May 24 the curfew imposed in Kishtwar to curb the spread of coronavirus.

District Administration announced Meat/Chicken Shops also permitted to open from 7:00am to 10:00 am during Corona Curfew in District Kishtwar.

The order reads, In continuation to thiLockdowns office orders No: DMK/COVID19/21/1658-98 Date 16-05.2021, it is further till ordered that, at point no. 03 ( Partial Permissible Activities in entire district ( From 7AM to 10AM only ),  Meat Chicken Shops are also allowed to open as per the order issued vide no; DMK/COVID19/21/702-751. DT 20-04-21.

On April 29, the Jammu and Kashmir administration imposed curfew in 11 districts in a bid to tackle the surge in COVID-19 cases, which was subsequently extended to all the 20 districts the next day.

The UT also witnessed a 34-hour curfew from 8 pm on April 24 till April 26.

On April 8, night curfew was imposed from 10 pm to 6 am in the urban areas of eight districts, which was extended to the municipal and urban local body limits of all the 20 districts in the UT on April 20.

Amarnath Shrine Board organizes Pratham Pooja at Holy Cave

Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) organised ‘Pratham Pooja’ at the holy cave on the auspicious occasion of ‘Jyeshtha Purnima’ on Thursday.

Nitishwar Kumar, CEO of the shrine board, performed the ritual amidst chanting of vedic mantras to “invoke the blessings of Shri Amarnathji”. ‘Hawan’ was also performed on the occasion.

The shrine board has been organising ‘Pratham Pooja’ on Jyeshtha Purnima every year to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva for the peaceful conduct of the annual ‘Yatra’.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2021 has been cancelled, but the shrine board is committed to carry out all religious rituals as per past practice, the CEO said.

“With the blessings of Lord Shiva, who is a source of strength for people during this difficult time, we shall overcome this health crisis and work towards welfare of the mankind,” Kumar said.

He further said in order to respect the religious sentiments of millions of devotees worldwide, SASB has made all the arrangements for carrying out traditional religious rituals at the holy cave.

The SASB would perform morning and evening ‘Arti’ of the ‘Holy Ice Lingam’ at the ‘Holy Cave Shrine’ from June 28 to ‘Shravan Purnima’ on August 22. The timing of the ‘Arti’ would be 6 am to 6.30 am in the morning and 5 pm to 5.30 pm in the evening. The devotees can have ‘Darshan’ through live telecast of morning and evening ‘Arti’.

PM’s all-party meet: Ek Jutt Jammu Protested in Jammu

Advocate Ankur Sharma led Ek Jutt Jammu staged a protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not inviting any regional party for an all-party meeting. According to the party, the PM has not done justice to Jammu by not asking any political party from Jammu. Ek Jutt Jammu has called 24 June 2021 a black day for Jammu.

Speaking with the media, Ankur Sharma said, “today is the black day in the history of J&K, and this black day is being observed in all the ten districts of Jammu. The Central Government has called for restoring the democratic process in J&K but has left Jammu out from the exercise. The gang, which was labeled as Anti-National by the Central Government, has received the invitation, and by talking with them, the Central Government will decide the future of J&K”.

“The Central Government has made a contract with Kashmiri Parties, and that’s why they haven’t invited any party from Jammu; otherwise, they can’t execute their contract. They have not only done partiality with Jammu, but they have sold Jammu. Ek Jutt Jammu will fight for separate statehood”, Ankur added.

5 CRPF Personnel Injured in Bus-CRPF Bulletproof Vehicle Collision

On Thursday morning, a CRPF bulletproof vehicle collided with a bus at Jammu-Pathankot National Highway near Rajbagh Police Station. In the accident, 5 CRPF Jawans have suffered injuries. All the injured have been shifted to the Government Medical College, Kathua.

A police team along with a CRPF team reached the site and registered a case. Later the CRPF vehicle was lifted from the accident site with the help of a crane.

Briefing about the accident, a CRPF Jawan said, “our Rajbhag’s patrolling party was inside the bulletproof vehicle, and the driver was turning the vehicle from the cut in front of the Police station when a civilian bus hit our truck due to which our vehicle turned down. 2 Jawans have suffered head injuries, while the rest 3 are fine”.
