Only one-way traffic to continue on Thursday on the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, the only road linking the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country.
The 434-km-long Srinagar-Leh and historic Mughal road remained closed for the 7th day due to accumulation of snow and slippery road conditions, a traffic police official told .
He said to avoid traffic jam and accidents on the Kashmir highway due to frequent landslides and shooting stones besides road widening at several places, only one-way traffic will continue till further orders.
Traffic will ply from Srinagar to Jammu and no vehicle will be allowed from opposite direction, he said.
We are witnessing landslides and shooting stones on the highway daily, but Border Roads Organisations (BRO) are working round the clock to clear the road of landslides and allow traffic.
