Mostly defaced and worn-out, the walls of Jammu city are all set to get a face-lift with Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and JK Bank coming up with an idea of painting these walls with scenic landscapes and images depicting the Dogra cultural heritage of the state.
The participants are from Institute of Fine arts, Jammu. They have been given this project to recreate the Dogra culture on the walls of Brigadier Rajinder Singh Chowk.
“The project aimed at promoting public art envisages painting of impressive images depicting the rich Dogra culture of the state, particularly Jammu region and sceneries of magnificent Dogra architecture of the division,” said the fine arts student.
“I was thrilled when JMC approached me to be part of the project because wall painting is best medium of communication and through this special campaign I hope people can see how beautiful our land is” said the artist.
