Normal life came to a halt in Kashmir Valley in response to separatists’ call for shutdown against killing of civilians and incidents of violence in Srinagar, Anantnag and Pulwama districts on Friday.
Shops, educational institutions, commercial and business establishments, remained closed. Public transport was off the roads. Very few private vehicles plied in Srinagar outskirts and some city roads. Similar reports of shutdown and disruption in normal life were received from other districts.
There were imposed restrictions on the entry to the areas adjacent to five police stations in Srinagar. The affect of the restrictions could be observed in Duru, Anantnag and Pulwama. Security personnel’s were deployed in the places where restrictions were imposed
