Jammu University stood first in their zone in the national youth parliament competition held in Delhi. The Youth Parliament programme is organised by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs to strengthen the roots of democracy, inculcate discipline and enable the students to understand the working of parliamentary institutions.
There were 78 teams who participated in the event and the teams were divided into 15 zones in which they stood first. The team coordinator Dr Vijay Sehgal said that this is the first time that JU has emerged first in such a prestigious competition.
Prof. MK Dhar, Vice Chancellor, JU congratulated the whole team and the participants for the feat.
Students said that it was an enriching experience and they got the opportunity to see the working of various parliamentary institutions.
