Srinagar, Dec 6: The Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) on Saturday confirmed that the JKAS Preliminary Examination will be conducted as scheduled on December 7, despite widespread appeals for postponement.
JKPSC Chairman Arun Kumar Choudhary said that the exam “will be conducted as per schedule.”
Earlier, the Office of the Lieutenant Governor issued a clarification on X, calling social media claims “misleading.” It stated that the age-relaxation file was received and returned on December 2 with a query on whether changes could be implemented so close to the exam adding that no response was received for four days.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had urged postponement, citing massive travel chaos and stress caused by the delayed age-relaxation decision. He said the situation had placed “unprecedented mental and logistical pressure” on candidates and appealed for a short deferment in the interest of fairness.
