Srinagar, Nov 17:
The Jammu and Kashmir Industries and Commerce Department has issued a fresh order withdrawing the Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) powers previously vested in the Joint Directors and Deputy Director (Adm) of the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom, Jammu.

According to Government Order No. 108-JK(IND) of 2025 dated 13-11-2025, the decision has been taken in compliance with an earlier Finance Department directive—Government Order No. 118-F of 2015, which outlines guidelines on DDO authorizations across departments.

The latest order states that the DDO powers exercised by the Joint Director Handicrafts Jammu, Joint Director Handloom Jammu, and Deputy Director (Adm) stand withdrawn with immediate effect.

Going forward, these financial and administrative powers will now be handled exclusively by the Accounts Officer of the Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Jammu.

The order has been issued by Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Vikramjit Singh (IPS), and copies have been forwarded to the Chief Secretary, Home Ministry, and concerned departmental heads for necessary action and compliance.

This administrative restructuring is expected to streamline financial procedures within the Handicrafts and Handloom sector in Jammu.
