As per the data released by National Health Authority (NHA) Government of India, the Jammu and Kashmir UT figures amongst the top 5 states/UTs with highest number of Ayushman Cards to have been generated in the last six months.
As per the data, J&K generated 19 Lakh Ayushman Cards in the last six months and proportional to the total beneficiary base J&K is the best performing state/UT vis-à-vis Ayushman Card generation in the last six months.
The AB PM-JAY SEHAT was launched by the Prime Minister on 26th December, 2020. Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) SEHAT in convergence with AB PM-JAY aims to provide Universal Health Insurance Coverage of Rs.5.00 lakh per family on a floater basis.
AB PM-JAY SEHAT has the same benefits as available under AB-PMJAY and this scheme covers all residents of Jammu and Kashmir including employees/pensioners of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and their families.
Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) SEHAT in convergence with PM-JAY provides cashless access to health care services for the beneficiary at the point of service, that is, the hospital. It envisions helping mitigate catastrophic expenditure on medical treatment to all the residents of Jammu & Kashmir and covers up to 3 days of pre-hospitalization and 15 days post-hospitalization expenses such as diagnostics and medicines.
There is no restriction on the family size, age or gender; all pre–existing conditions are covered from day one. Benefits of the scheme are portable across the country i.e. a beneficiary can visit any of the more than 24000 empanelled public or private hospitals (including 226 hospitals empanelled within Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir) under AB PM-JAY in India to avail cashless treatment.
The scheme has been accorded top priority by Lieutenant Governor, who is monitoring the implementation of the scheme closely.
Chief Executive Officer, State Health Agency J&K, Dr. Sagar Doifode informed that the State Health Agency, besides other initiatives, has started a unique initiative, ‘Gaon Gaon Ayushman’ which is aimed to provide Ayushman Bharat Cards to entire population within shortest period of time.
To ensure all eligible beneficiaries are registered under Ayushman Bharat PMJAY-SEHAT scheme, camps are being set-up for on spot registration of beneficiaries by CSCs where VLEs are stationed for ensuring 100 percent registration and mobilization at grass roots level is being done by PRIs involving door to door campaign by ASHA’s. The drive is being conducted in coordination with PRI representatives of respective areas.
This being the most prestigious scheme is being monitored by Additional Chief Secretary Health & Medical Education, Atal Dulloo, on a daily basis.
UP Based 18-year-old Dies of Electrocution in Jammu
An 18-year-old youth died of electrocution after he came in contact with a live wire in Jammu. The child Mohit Sharma was a resident of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh and was working as a daily wager in HSP for the past 20-25 days. HSP is replacing Municipality Street Lights in Jammu.
The family members alleged that the contractor lied to us that the main power switch was down and we should start the work. The concerned supervisor was absconding from the site. They also complained that the police were not ready to register the case and proceed with the investigation.
An onsite engineer said the company is ready to compensate for the youth’s death and will meet the demands of the family.
J&K Govt teacher among two arrested for attack on police party
Police on Tuesday arrested two criminals for attacking a police party and creating law and order problems in the Chassana area.
“Case FIR no 35/2021 U/S 341, 353, 382, 147, 149, 336, 504, 506, 225, 224, 120-B IPC and section 3 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act has been registered in police station Chassana on 31st of August 2021 when notorious criminals of the area attacked police party,” an official statement from the police reads.
The statement reads that another hardcore criminal and ex Sarpanch Prem Singh wanted in rape case and his accomplices of Thalkote-Chassana were arrested on 31st of August.
“Prem Singh is a bad-name history sheeter involved in ten cases including four cases of attack on police including firing by weapon issued under Village Defense Committees, and attempt to murder and rape,” it said.
The statement reads that the victim had lodged a written complaint against Prem Singh and others with allegations of rape.
“On this FIR 47/2020 was registered in Chasana police station and the complainant was taken to judicial magistrate for recording the statement of the victim in this heinous crime of rarest of rare nature,” it said.
Meanwhile, a team of Reasi police arrested two notorious criminals namely Chankar Singh and Ayaz Hussain Shah from Thalkote, Tehsil Chassana .
Shah, a government teacher, was wanted in case FIR no 35/2021 U/S 341, 353, 382, 147, 149, 336, 504, 506, 224, 225, 120B IPC & 3 of prevention of damage to Public Property Act-1984 police station Chasana.
Shah is a serving government teacher by profession presently posted in Middle School Kewali Thalkote.
“Accused Chankar Singh a notorious criminal of the area was earlier involved in kidnapping, rape and other illegal activities of heinous nature,” the statement reads.
“Case FIR NO 34/2014 U/S 451, 447, 323 RPC and FIR no 40/2013 US 363, 452, 342, 376, 212, 147 RPC of Police Station Chassana registered against him,” it said.
“Whereas Accused Ayaz Hussain Shah a hardcore criminal was also involved in activities of rape and snatching,” it said.
Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi,Shailender Singh said that, “each and every person involved in violation of law shall be dealt with strictly”
Old aged drivers to write ‘E’ on their vehicles
A big news for the old aged drivers as the Government has appealed them to write ‘E’ letter on their vehicles.
Keeping the traffic conditions and increase in accidents in consideration, the old aged people driving a vehicle will now write ‘E’ letter denoting elder on their vehicle.
This sign will alert the youth while driving on the road and make them careful when around the ‘E’ signed vehicles.
Talab Tillo District Traffic Inspector (DTI) Rakesh Kumar said that the ‘E’ sign on vehicles with drivers above age 60 will avoid unnecessary honking near them.
He further said that the new rule would be beneficial to the elders as they would easily get side on the road and the Traffic Police is encouraging them to follow the new rule.
