The Enforcement Staff of Jammu Development Authority (JDA) undertook an anti encroachment drive near Railway Station Jammu and removed encroachments along the roadside.
The drive was conducted on the instructions of Vice Chairman Jammu Development Authority following the orders of J&K High Court for removing the encroachments. During the drive, the team demolished structures which were on road side in the shape of wooden kiosks, Rehris, Pharis, small steel structure/boxes, construction raised over pavements causing hurdles in the smooth flow of traffic movement in the area. The drive has been conducted in the wee hours with the help and co-operation of police force from the concerned police station. JDA has warned the people to desist from encroaching roads/footpaths which are meant for common use. “As such, it creates traffic chaos and the congested road becomes accident prone. An action as warranted under law will be taken against the defaulters and such antiencroachment drives shall continue in future as well,” a statement of JDA averred.
