Jammu: Newly Married Woman Found Dead Under Mysterious Conditions

A newly married woman named Rimpi Choudhary wife of Surinder was found dead under mysterious circumstances on 18th Feb at her in-law’s house in Ramgarh.

According to her in-laws, Rimpi consumed poison after which she died but the parents of Rimpi have alleged her in-laws of killing her. According to Rimpi’s parents, her in-laws used to harass her for dowry.

The body of Rimpi was sent to Ramgarh Hospital for postmortem. The parents of Rimpi protested at the hospital to demand justice for their daughter. Also, they took the dead body of their daughter to her in-law’s house and cremated the deceased in their premises. After that, the situation got tense as the family members of both families got engaged in a fight and the police had to step in to calm the family members. Earlier the police were not taking the case seriously but after the incident, the police has registered a case under IPC 174.

The Police are now waiting for the postmortem reports to declare the death as suicide or murder and accordingly, the investigation will take place.
