A man was arrested for allegedly sharing a sensitive post on social networking site Facebook which police said had the potential to disturb peaceful atmosphere of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir, an official said today.
According to preliminary inquiry, the man shared a video of a sacrilegious act that had taken place in some area of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on Facebook thereby hurting the sentiments of a particular community, said Yugal Manhas, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Rajouri.
Police identified the accused as Aijaz Ahmed son of Hussain Mohd resident of Agrati Rajouri.
A case under relevant sections of the IPC was registered against the man, he added.
Rajouri police appealed all people to use social media platforms in a positive way and to refrain from any act which hurts the sentiments of any community.
