Last night a theft was reported at a Jewellery shop named Aabhushan Jewelers situated at Karan Nagar area of Kathua. The thieves have stolen about 21-22 kg of silver ornaments and 110 grams of gold ornaments. Along with ornaments, the thieves have also stolen a licensed double barrel gun from the shop. The building of the shop is 4 stories and the thieves have entered the shop from the roof of the building by breaking 4-5 steel gates. Although the thieves have broken the CCTV cameras placed inside the shop the recorded footage is still present there and the police officials have taken it with themselves to identify the thieves. While talking to the media the owner of the show said “at 10:00 am today my son opened the shop and he found that our shop had been looted. He called me to inform me about the theft and I immediately reported the matter to the Police station. The thieves have climbed up the roof by using a ladder and from there they have entered the shop. In January 2015 also my shop was looted and at that time the thieves were arrested but later they were released as the police closed my case. At that time about 26 lakhs of ornaments were stolen whose cost we haven’t covered yet. We also deal in the wholesale business of diamonds and the thieves have tried to loot that room also but they failed in breaking the door as it was a special security door. If they have looted that room then I would have surely died. Earlier I had faith in the police but when in 2015 they closed my vase from that time I had no faith in them”.

Also, the thieves tried to loot a house on the backside of the shop but people there frightened off the thieves.
