Jammu District on Sunday observed the second day of weekend lockdown imposed by the district administration to prevent world-wide disaster in Jammu.
It is pertinent to mention here that the District administration Jammu imposed lockdown from July 24 to prevent any further spike in the COVID-19 cases in the district and today is second of phase-5 of this weekend lockdown.
A complete restriction on movement of individuals, vehicles and all activities within the entire jurisdiction of district Jammu, except the movement for emergency medical requirements were observed but as per earlier phases, the people were seen ignoring guidelines of the weekend lockdown.
However, Markets were totally closed and as per the order local chemist, fruits, vegetables and dairy shops remain accessible for community needs. Police personnel, assisted by paramilitary jawans, were deployed across the different parts of the Jammu to strictly enforce the lockdown.
Police vans were spotted announcing lockdown and telling people to adhere to the guidelines strictly and also taking action against those who do not adhere to the guidelines and roaming without reason.
