To celebrate World Toilet day, a cleanliness drive was organised in Bus stand, Jammu.
Local shopkeepers also participated in the event and cleaned the areas of Bus stand, Jammu and appealed the people of J&K to keep the city clean and green.
Assistant Controller of Sulabh international, Sunil Kumar was also present as a main guest in the event.
Talking to the media, Sunil Kumar Singh, Sulabh International Assistant Controller Jammu, informed about the cleanliness drive is an initiative of Sulabh International at Bus Stand. He further aware about the harmful effects of open defecation and also appealed the public to use toilets.
Rahil Gupta, General Secretary Trader Welfare Association, General Bus Stand Jammu, also informed about open defecation and its impact on environment. He further requested the shopkeepers to refrains from littering in the open. He advised the people to adapt healthy ways of living.
Pradhan Ramesh Kumar, President Trader Welfare Association General Bus Stand Jammu expressed his gratitude towards PM Narendra Modi for “Swachhta Abhiyan” and for spreading awareness related to cleanliness among the general public.
