Jammu artists today staged protest against All J&K Academy of Arts, Culture and languages (JKAACL) for suspending a series of family based programme, Gharana of which 26 episodes has been performed so far. It was an initiative to preserve the tradition of the families associated with music and to transcends it to the younger generation.
Mohan Singh, one of the protesting artists said that the programme Gharana is important to the artists as it promotes and give recognition to the artists of Jammu. He reiterated that the Gharana should resume and problems should be resolved at the earliest.
Additional Secretary of JKAACL said that the Secretary JKAACL, Aziz Hajni has ordered to suspend the show temporarily. The reasons are yet to be disclosed.
This program has been running successfully since the last 26 months.
