In the past weeks, many thefts have been reported in the public transports and yesterday another theft took place in a matador of route Panjtirthi to Bohri. A female after withdrawing a heavy amount of 50,000 rupees took the matador. In the matador, she was sharing the seat with another lady, and when the female deboarded the matador found that all her money was missing.
While talking to the media the female victim said “from Jammu University I took the matador for Talab Tillo. In the matador, I asked a lady who was sitting alone on the seat to shift but the lady refused. Then the lady asked me to come on the window side. After I took the seat I took out my phone to call my known one as half of the money I was supposed to give to him and I called him to know whether he is available at his shop or not and after calling I put my mobile back into my purse till that time the money was in my purse only. Then a few minutes before my destination I left the seat and was standing with my purse swinging in the air and when I reached the shop and opened my purse I was shocked as the money inside my purse was missing. I suspect that the lady sitting with me had taken out my money when I was waiting for my destination and she had seen the money before when I opened my purse to take out my mobile. I reported the matter to the police station and the police officials called the person collecting fare in the matador and asked him about the lady who was sitting next to me but the person had no information about her. Out of total money, half of the money was to pay fees for our daughters. We have saved the money after many years of hard work”.
The thief is very clever as she has taken out the money from a large-sized handbag and that in a fraction of minutes. We request all the daily commuters who are traveling in public transports please be attentive during your journey as thefts are increasing day by day.
