Government has ordered to review the performance of the employees especially those who are ineffective and not fit for the job.
Jammu Kashmir Chief Secretary, Arun Kumar Mehta who is also the Financial Commissioner, Finance Department has issued an order and impressed upon all the Administrative Secretaries to initiate the exercise of reviewing the performance of each Government Servant who has completed 48 years of age or have 22 years of service for identifying such Government Servants who are ‘ineffective’ in work and are not fit to continue in the post held and have no utility for the purpose for which they are employed.
On the directions of the Chief Secretary, the Codes Division of the Finance Department has written to all Administrative Secretaries to undertake the review process of the government employees without any delay.
“The exercise of review of performance of the Government servants will be initiated for each Government Servant for the first time after his/her completion of 22 years of service or attaining 48 years of age and any time subsequently, as may be required.”
The Administrative Secretaries have been asked that the cases of Government servants for consideration shall be placed before the General Administration Department by Review Committee constituted for the purpose, for placing its recommendations before the Competent Authority.
The order reads that it has been observed that the departments have not initiated any exercise for reviewing the performance of the Government servants so for and all the departments shall follow the procedure under rules.
It has been directed to identify all the ineffective employees who are not fit to continue in the post held and have no utility for the purpose for which they are employed.
2 CRPF jawans, Civilian Injured In Grenade Attack
Two CRPF jawans and a Civilian were injured in a grenade attack on Friday.
Reports said immediately after the attack, the area was cordoned off to nab the attackers.

Man arrested for raping minor
A man was arrested in Baramulla district of north Kashmir for allegedly raping a minor girl inside a forest area, police said on Thursday.
A complaint was received in police station Uri in the district on Wednesday by a person alleging that his minor daughter, aged about 13 years, was raped and threatened by a man, identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan alias Muna Khan, in the forest area, a police spokesperson said.
He said a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered in police station Uri and an investigation is underway.
“During the course of investigation, the police team after utilising all available means and due to strenuous efforts arrested the accused within hours of the complaint received by police. He has been shifted to the police station, where he remains in custody,” the spokesperson said.
As part of the investigation, necessary medico-legal formalities have been carried out, he added.
Train crushes man to death
A man was crushed to death by a train at Qazigund in south Kashmir district of Anantnag on Friday.
Official sources said that panic gripped Badragund in Anantnag when a man, identified as Ghulam Nabi Chopan, was crushed to death by a train on Srinagar-Banihal route at around 1100 hrs on Friday. The locals immediately informed the police, they said, adding a team was rushed to the area and the body was taken away.
After completing all the legal and medical formalities, the body was handed over to his relatives for last rites.
