New Delhi, Nov (Date):
Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi today issued a sharp strategic warning, stating that the era of “long peace” is rapidly declining as the world transitions into an increasingly “uncertain and fractured order.”
Speaking at the Chanakya Defence Dialogue-2025 in New Delhi, the Army Chief said that global instability is rising due to shifting power balances, technological disruptions, and the emergence of new conflict zones.
Gen. Dwivedi noted that the nature of warfare is evolving quickly, with hybrid threats, cyber challenges, and grey-zone competition becoming more pronounced. He stressed that India must remain vigilant and prepared to safeguard its national interests amid these emerging complexities.
The Army Chief underlined the need for continuous modernisation, enhanced jointness among the armed forces, and adoption of advanced technologies to meet future security challenges.
The Chanakya Defence Dialogue is one of the Indian Army’s premier strategic platforms, bringing together global experts, policymakers, and military leaders to discuss evolving geopolitical and defence landscapes
