Watch Exclusive interview
Q. We’ll heard that no leader raised voice for Jammu in the meeting. They spoke only about Kashmir. Zoravar Ji, how do you see the meeting?
India’s democracy is the biggest in the entire world. This was an important step for development by our honourable PM Narendra Modi Ji. Many talked about bureaucracy since last 2 years after J&K becoming an UT. So a restoration of Democratic system like elections was demanded. When the date of All Party Meeting was finalised, the discussions depended on parameters.
Don’t you think Kashmir leaders were more in comparison to Jammu? I know ex CMs were invited. Maybe the system was like that. But it was actually 3:1 ratio of Kashmir CMs and Jammu CMs. Everyone around has the same issue that the level of representation of Jammu wasn’t as good as that of Kashmir. Many would agree to this there has always been a disagreement between Kashmir and Jammu leadership.
The imbalance was excused by the BJP during other party rules due to the pressure on them. But now when BJP is ruling, they could have cleared the discrimination. The public of Jammu gave them a historic win by 25 seats. You have to represent people’s opinions on that level.
Most of us didn’t like what Mehbooba Mufti told about maintaining relationship with Pakistan but at least she had the guts to speak. Umar Abdullah suggested statehood for Jammu and the Delimitation because they know if it’s done in a transparent manner, Jammu will have more seats.
Q. 200 khittas (regions) in Kashmir and only 50 in Jammu. Don’t you think if 370 wasn’t abolished and Delimitation is formed now people would notice this?
The leaders who are silent right now have put everything on Modi ji’s shoulders. Check all the old electronic media you’ll remember what BJP leaders said. They clearly mentioned that article 370 is a stone in the way of terrorism and these khittas. What happened after that? Best legislators who’ve received awards for best MLAs and so many other leaders from Jammu region weren’t invited. The number in Kashmir is still more after removal if article 370.
If you can call Altaf Bukhari Ji then why not Choudhary Lal Singh Ji? What justice did Jammu get? So many scams from Kashmir still they are invited. I never said invite me but at least call people who can become the face of Jammu and raise public concerns in front of PM and Home Minister. ‘Sabka sath sabka vikas’ has now become ‘Kashmir ka sath, Kashmir ka vikas’ now with same unemployment and other issues in Jammu.
See the medical infrastructure of Kashmir. I appreciate the efforts taken to save ives there. But didn’t the lives of Jammu people matter? The health infrastructure here hasn’t seen much development in the last 14 months. Why this step-motherly behaviour with these 2 sister regions?
Q. If BJP is incapable in of speaking in front of the PM, how do they say with guarantee about the next CM from their party?
Dogra certificate let you to win and today you people don’t even ask Dogras! 3 years a CM served Jammu but it didn’t go well. I’ll appreciate BJP for it’s good work but when it’s incapable of something, it should accept it. Every time the BJP leaders talk about Jammu’s justice but when it comes to discussions and decisions, the throw away our aspirations.
We are Nationalists and have always given up our lives for Tiranga. People are struggling on borders, Kashmiri Pandits are living like refugees in their own country. Weren’t these topics supposed to be a part of discussion? I feel more people should’ve been invited who could raise these important matters.
Jammu’s youth is mature. We all know Jammu has been the victim of discrimination since 1947. We want Delimitation in a proper transparent manner and then a separate statehood for Jammu.

Yesterday a Councillor got engaged with a JK Police Officer. The Councillor has reached to review a protest by the Shiv Nagar, Kathua, over the power cuts. The protestors have blocked the National Highway. The police officer asked the protestors to stage their protest off the road and not block the Highway. But, on numerous requests by the police, the protestors didn’t leave the road then the police started dragging the protestors from the road.
On Saturday, the youngsters of Kathua protested against Kathua Police and blocked the road. According to the youngsters, the SHO has misbehaved with the Councillor. A police party tried to resolve the matter, but the protestors didn’t agree. The Councillor demanded that the SHO apologize for his actions in front of the media or be suspended.
While talking to the media, a Sarpanch said, “yesterday’s incident was very shameful. The people elected the Councillor, and the SHO dragged him like an offender. The locals were protesting only to demand their rights. They were not doing anything illegal. We criticize the incident and demand that the SHO should be suspended. If he treats the Councillor this way, then how he treats the common public”.
