POONCH NOV 21: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced today in Poonch that the (NGO) Human Resource Development Society (HRDS) will construct 133 houses for families affected by Pakistani shelling.
The project, estimated to cost Rs. 1 million, will be completed within six months.
Addressing the affected families and local officials, the LG said that the administration is taking every possible step to support those who have suffered due to cross-border shelling.
He emphasized that ensuring safety, rehabilitation, and long-term stability for these families remains a top priority for the government.
LG Sinha highlighted that the new housing initiative aims to provide secure, durable, and dignified living conditions.
He added that multiple departments are working in coordination to ensure timely completion of the construction and delivery of relief measures.
The announcement has brought a sense of relief and hope to the residents of Poonch, who have long faced hardships due to repeated shelling from across the border.
With this project underway, the administration aims to accelerate rehabilitation efforts and strengthen support systems for vulnerable families in the region.
