JAMMU, Feb 12: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has expanded the mandate of its Sexual Harassment Probe Committee to include complaints relating to transgender persons, in addition to matters concerning women.

An order issued by the Registrar General at Jammu stated that the decision has been taken in compliance with directions passed by the Supreme Court of India in a writ petition titled Geeta Rani vs Union of India and others.

The Chief Justice has directed that the existing Sexual Harassment Probe Committee will now also look into complaints of sexual harassment and related matters concerning transgender persons
