Govt Spent 500 Crores To Beat The Coronavirus Pandemic

The J&K Government has spent 500 crores rupees to tackle the Coronavirus pandemic since March 2020. Most of the money was spent on buying machines like ventilators, high-grade equipment for testing, and establishing high-tech labs.

J&K has 11 main testing labs and all the labs were provided with RNA extraction kits in which a huge sum was spent. As of now, 1000 ventilators are available in hospitals that were equally divided to both J&K. The Government also spent a huge sum on buying PPE kits and more beds to meet the requirements. 238 crore rupees were spent for the augmentation of oxygen plants which was a major boost for J&K during the corona pandemic.

Similarly, 60 crore rupees were approved under the World Bank project to improve the oxygen supply in 30 community health centers and sub-district hospitals.

As per earlier figures DDMA released 6.45 crores out of which 1.50 crore was given to PWD to set up covid care center. 65 lakh rupees to Nodal officers for quarantine centers and around 30 lakhs were spent in hiring emergency vehicles. Also, 4 crores were released to various hospitals under SDRF by DDMA till July last year.
