Govt. arrangements seem failing against covid-19 virus in J&K

The Government arrangements for the patients suffering from the covid-19 virus seems to be failing as the surge in the cases continues.

The beds assigned for the corona patients at the District Hospital Samba are currently less in number than required. The oxygen generation plant installed at the Hospital supposed to cater 100 beds was added with a pipeline of 50 beds.

However, through the emergency points, the number of patients have increased to 65, surpassing the Hospital’s bed capacity. Patients with low saturation level are admitted to this Hospital. The shortage of beds has led to patients on stretchers with oxygen cylinders.

Samba residents had a layer of hope after DC Samba Anuradha Gupta ensured that the Administration had enough equipments for the covid patients. But a challenge for the Health Department appears here.

Administrative failure has already cost us lives which cannot be afforded now! The Department must stand up with necessary arrangements and consider the readiness to cope up with the increasing cases. They should prioritise emergency actions especially when cases are severe.
