New guidelines have been issued by the Administration as Jammu’s Chamber of Commerce appealed to it about the loss of businessmen during the Covid-19 period. According to the new SOPs, the shops in Jammu can remain open till 10-10:30 at night while the restaurants can be visited till 11 at night.
“We got calls from 2-3 different market associations of Jammu where shopkeepers complained about the scheduled timings and their losses over the months. The old guidelines were meant till 31st January. So, we appealed to Divisional Commissioner today and had a meeting with him. He immediately talked to DC Ma’am. She also agreed to our appeals and gave a time limit of 10-10:30 pm for shops.”
“It’s a good decision for the shopkeepers and office employees. If they return from work at 8 or 9, they have sufficient time to go out with family and have their valuable time. The restaurants will remain open till 11 so that families have enough time for dinners and get-togethers.” Mr. Atul, President of Jammu Chamber if Commerce said
