The theft included a chain, 2 gents rings, 3 ladies rings, 2 gold sets, my daughter’s bangles and payal. We belong to a middle-class family and jewellery is our only saving (cries). My husband is a daily wager and gets a salary of Rs. 6700 per month. I was a teacher but lost my job due to COVID-19. I saved my jewellery so that we have money for future.”

“There’s no CCTV camera in the surrounding so no footage can be used to identify the thieves. My neighbours didn’t get to know about the theft. The thieves were clever enough to keep the main gate locked. Police came and took 2-3 pictures of our house. They’ll carry out an investigation. I hope we get our jewellery back as it’s difficult for us to survive with a little amount.” She added.
A Police complaint has been registered and the investigation is in process.
