On the occasion of 150th birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, a two day Skill Development art and craft mela is being organised in Women Parade College Jammu in collaboration with Buddha Art Gallery from 12-13 October. It has been jointly organised by eight colleges of Jammu city.
Addressing to the press, the principal GCW Parade, Hemla Aggarwal said that it is one of a kind event that is happening for the first time in Jammu.
The highlight of the event is the live paintings by Nityam Singharoy who is a budding artist of Jammu. The paintings will be later displayed for the auction.
There are 21 different types of stalls set up students displaying beautifully hand made art and craft products.
She further said that different competitions like umbrella painting, canvas painting, flower arrangement, rangoli making, mehndi designing etc will also held between the students and the prize will be distributed to the winning students tomorrow in Valedictory session.
