Ganderbal, Dec 26: In a major success against cyber-enabled crimes, the Cyber Police Station in Ganderbal has traced and recovered 46 missing or lost mobile phones, collectively valued at several lakhs of rupees, from various locations across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The recovery came after multiple complaints were lodged over the past four months on the CEIR Portal and with local police units regarding missing phones. Acting swiftly under the guidance of SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Ahmad Poswal, dedicated teams from the Cyber Police Station carried out sustained technical and field operations, leading to the successful retrieval of the devices.

The recovered mobile phones were formally returned to their rightful owners in a ceremony overseen by SSP Poswal, with Dy.SP Headquarters Ganderbal also present, following all legal procedures.

The Ganderbal Police emphasized that the operation underscores their commitment to addressing public grievances and combating cybercrime through technology and coordinated policing.

Authorities advised citizens to remain vigilant while using mobile phones and other electronic devices to prevent cyber fraud. In case of cybercrime, the public is encouraged to report incidents immediately via the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (www.cybercrime.gov.in) and notify the Cyber Police Station Ganderbal.

The police reaffirmed their dedication to ensuring digital safety and protecting the public’s cyber interests.
