To pay rich tributes to the brave police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty, Ganderbal Police observed Police Commemoration Day with honour and reverence at the Sports Stadium near SSP Office.
The solemn ceremony was chaired by SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal–JKPS, who took the ceremonial salute and read out the names of the brave martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for safeguarding the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.
In his address, SSP Ganderbal said that the day serves as a reminder of the unparalleled courage, dedication, and selfless service of police personnel across the country. “We salute the valour and sacrifices of our brave martyrs who laid down their lives protecting the life and property of the people, and ensuring peace and harmony in the nation.”
The Commemoration Day Parade was presented by contingents of District Police Ganderbal, JKAP, L/Ct. Battalion, SSB, CRPF, Police Band and Pipe Band Sainik School Manasbal which marked the occasion with discipline and pride.
The event was followed by a wreath-laying ceremony, during which SSP Ganderbal, senior police officers, special guests, and family members of the martyrs paid floral tributes and showered petals on the portraits of the fallen heroes. The atmosphere was filled with emotion and respect as participants remembered the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs.
As a gesture of care and solidarity, Ganderbal Police distributed gifts among the Next of Kin (NoKs) of Police Martyrs. Later, an interactive session was held, where senior officers patiently listened to the concerns of the martyr families. SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS assured them that all their genuine issues pertaining to the Police Department would be redressed promptly, while matters related to civil administration would be taken up with the concerned authorities for timely resolution.
Concluding the event, SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal–JKPS expressed heartfelt gratitude to the families of the martyrs and dignitaries for their presence and continued remembrance of the brave hearts.
