Fed up with JMC, locals start Constructing Boundary Wall on their own

Residents of ward 42, sector nine, tired of appealing to JMC, have started the construction of the boundary wall on their own. They used the revenue collected from the households in the area in the construction. Unfortunately, in the past days, the drain water entered their houses due to flash floods, after which the locals have suffered heavy losses.

While talking to the media, an old-aged local said, “earlier also we have constructed the boundary wall and a culvert on our own. This time the boundary wall has been damaged due to the less depth of the drain. We’ve repeatedly asked the JMC to increase the drain depth, but they haven’t responded to our demand. Also, whenever women of the area raise complaints against them in the media, the officials start abusing them and harassing them”.

“A few days back, the JMC reconstructed the street of the area, but after 2-3 days, potholes developed on the road, and my son’s arm has been broken after falling into it. But, unfortunately, no JMC official has come here to review our sufferings. So now we are constructing the wall because we can’t bear another loss due to another rainfall”, a female lady said.

Locals also said that they’ll not be casting their votes in the coming elections.
