Demanding redressal to their issues, Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association accused Government of making false promises and held protest, here today demanding the benefits at par with defence forces. They demanded benefits of OROP at par with defence forces, CDS facilities and separate medical facilities.
A large number of Ex-Central Paramilitary personnel joined together and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
While addressing the press, General secretary Darshan Kumar said that they joined the paramilitary forces and served the nation at par with Army. “The Central Government granted OROP only for the armed forces of the defence depriving the paramilitary forces”, he said, adding that like army, paramilitary forces personnel also serve the nation, but they have been deprived of OROP. He said that Government has failed to fulfill its responsibility towards its para military forces.
“We request the government to stop doing discrimination in soldiers and extend the benefit of OROP at par with defence forces to central paramilitary forces also,” he added.
He said that Government neither provided them with OROP facilities nor it has provided any Job opportunity that it promised to the family of martyr Gurnam Singh.
