E-challan in Jammu, drivers need to be alert

E-challans have started in Jammu and Kashmir as the traffic security gets tightened. According to reports, the system started to avoid corruption in the traffic department.
The training of E-challans to the traffic Police officials started in May 2020 and the process in J&K started in August of the same year.
Till now the E-challans in the month of August across J&K UT were 37, 334 in September, 700 in October, 1000 in November, 1200 in December and 2700 in January. Around 150 E-challans are being charged per day in the month of February.
As per increase in E-challans, people have shown understanding with the Department. However, according to the policies, the challans would increase almost double every other time it is charged.
