Scholarship worth Rs 3.10 lakh was sanctioned in favour of 62 wards of deceased police personnel for the current academic session in Jammu and Kashmir.
A police spokesperson said that Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned scholarships in favour of 62 wards of deceased Police personnel for the academic session 2018-19.
“An amount of Rs 3,10,000 scholarship have been sanctioned out of Central Police Welfare Fund for these students,” he said.
He said Rs 5000 each has been sanctioned in favour of school going children of deceased Police Personnel who have expired while in service due to natural or accidental deaths. “The wards who have been provided scholarships are studying in different classes from Primary to graduation level,” he said.
He said Police Headquarters has been sanctioning scholarships for wards of deceased police personnel and martyrs in order to provide them a succour to continue their studies.
