J&K Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh on Wednesday rewarded 78 personnel from different districts of the valley for exhibiting excellent weapon drill and turn out while presenting guard of honour to the police chief.
A police spokesperson said that the DGP sanctioned Rs 1000 in favour of 79 policemen of Sopore, Baramulla, Handwara, Shopian, Pulwama, Anantnag and Awantipora districts.
“The reward was sanctioned in favour of these personnel for exhibiting excellent weapon drill and turn out while presenting guard of honour to the DGP during his visit to these districts,” he said.
He said Mr Singh had visited these districts of north and south Kashmir ranges after taking over as charge of DGP J&K.
“During his visit, he interacted with the police personnel and assured them that the department will continue to encourage all those personnel who exhibit best performance,” the spokesperson said.
He said the DGP visited Sopore and Baramulla on September 14, on September 24 to Handwara and four districts of South Kashmir Range — Shopian, Pulwama, Anantnag and Awantipora on September 25.
Meanwhile, the DGP said that achievements on different fronts of policing have made J&K Police proud and commitment and sincerity towards duty will lead the force towards more success.
