Under the banner J&K National Trade Union Front (JKNTUF), daily wage workers staged protest in Doda in support of their demands that for a comprehensive regularisation of services policy for casual labourers, providing a minimum wage of 6700 which was approved by the Cabinet, immediate release of pending wages of workers. They shouted slogans in protest of their demands.
Protestors said that they have not been given the salary for the past 10 months and they are living under financial constraints for several months now which have made the situation even worse.
Government has miserably failed to fulfill the long pending demands and have failed to provide us the minimum wages sanctioned by the Cabinet, said one of the protestors.
Workers announced that they would take out a “massive” protest rally in support of the demands if no action is taken to fulfill their demands till 15 October.
