Cyber fraud in Jammu, victim loses 1 lakh

As the cyber frauds in J&K increase, an incident happened in Akhnoor where Joginder Singh, a resident invested cash amount of Rs. 1,00,000 in a site named TheShoppers. Instead of gaining an extra 4%, he lost the whole sum.

Joginder said “Few days back my friend suggested me to invest money in TheShoppers. He showed me screenshots of gaining 4% of 20,000. I was impressed so I also invested 1,00,000. The app worked for 4-5 days and I gained 1,50,000. Suddenly the app stopped and the money got stuck in the app. I can see the increase in amount but cannot redeem it. It shows approved in the app but the amount doesn’t get credited in the account.”

“The people in our WhatsApp group are around 200 and they all have also lost their money. Some invested 50,000 while some 2,50,000. It’s a huge loss to everyone because it is hard earned money.” He added

Many other fraud cases with the same website have also been reported. It is advised to check the company’s details before investing in it.
