Srinagar, Dec 11: A CRPF trooper was found dead late Wednesday night after reportedly shooting himself with his service rifle while on naka duty at Karpura Brane, in the Nishat area of Srinagar outskirts.
The trooper, Sujeet Kumar from Jharkhand, was serving with the 54 Battalion posted in Brein Nishat.
Police have registered the incident and an inquiry is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death.
