The traveler’s share in COVID-19 positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir which was over 45 percent in the month of June, has now gone down to less than 25 percent.
As per official data , among 12757 cases, 3147 are travelers which constitutes 24.66 percent of the total cases detected positive in the J&K.
In Kashmir, out of 10113 total cases, 1178 are travelers which constitutes 11.62 percent of cases detected in the division. Pertinently, in Kashmir division, the share of travelers was over 34 percent in month of June.
Furthermore, in Jammu division out of 2644 positive cases 1969 are travelers, which constitutes 74.47 percent of total cases detected in the division. In Srinagar, out of 2486 cases 329 are travelers which constitutes 13.23 percent of the total cases detected in the district while as out of 1464 cases 94 are travelers in Baramulla which is 6.42 percent of the total cases.
In Kulgam, out of 1113 positive cases, 233 are travelers, which is 20.93 percent of the total cases and in Shopian district out of 1055 positive cases 30 are travelers which is 2.8 percent of the total cases.
In Anantnag the share of travelers is 5.36 percent, 30.08 percent in Kupwara, 10.16 percent in Bandipora, 9.8 percent in Budgam, 10.75 percent in Ganderbal and 6.17 percent in Pulwama
In Jammu districts the share of travelers in positive cases is 74.34 percent in Jammu district, 73.58 percent in Ramban, 90.54 percent in Kathua, 57.14 percent in Udhampur, 77.2 percent in Samba, 84.86 percent in Poonch, 93.99 percent in Rajouri, 76.19 percent in Reasi, 82.35 percent in Kishtiwar and 75.32 percent in Doda.
Interestingly, figures available with the KNO around 2, 40, 000 residents of Jammu and Kashmir have been evacuated so far from different states, Union Territories besides other countries
