Union minister Jitendra Singh has put himself under self-quarantine as a precautionary measure after BJP’s J&K unit President Ravinder Raina tested positive for Covid-19.
In a tweet, Jitendra Singh said, “Have gone into self-quarantine with immediate effect from 4 PM today, after receiving the news about Corona positive test of J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina who had accompanied us from Srinagar to Bandipora on July 12 (sic).”
J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina tested positive for Covid-19 today. Raina said he had mild fever but no other symptom, and he decided to get tested for Covid-19.
“Dear friends, I was staying in Bandipora in Kashmir for five days after militants killed BJP leaders Wasim Bari, Umar Sultan and his father. Today, I had mild fever. I got tested for Covid-19 and my report is positive. I do not have any other symptom.”
Devender Raina and other senior BJP leaders had visited Kashmir’s Bandipora recently. He was accompanied by BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav and Union minister Jitendra Singh, besides several other national and state BJP leaders to express condolences to the family of the BJP leader who was killed along with his father and brother by militants.
