Corona warriors with long due unpaid salaries in Jammu

Women staff of Gandhi Nagar Government Hospital today protested outside the campus as they haven’t received their salaries since months. They said that suddenly deducting pf from their salaries is something they don’t agree with.
“We are working in this Hospital since 20 years while some joined in 2008. We were given money on daily basis then rejoined on contractual basis. Till now we aren’t permanent employees. When Covid-19 was on peak, we worked everyday to take care of the patients. Many of us became corona positive lying in the Hospital ourselves. No one came to see us or asked us for help neither financially nor socially.” said a woman worker.
“I’m diabetic. I never cared about my health from last 20 years and worked selflessly for the betterment of the Hospital. During Covid-19 we had direct contact with positive patients. We changed clothes of child and women patients but who got the credit? Only the senior officials.” added another.
The women staff complained about the bad behaviour of their contractor.
“We haven’t received our salaries since 3 months. We contacted the contractor but he ensured an increase in our pays. Instead of that, our salaries decreased and pf started getting deducting.
When we worked day and night during Covid-19 no one cut the pf then why now? When we demand our salaries the contractor behaves rudely and blackmails us of firing from our jobs. We’re only getting Rs. 500 per month from Government right now. We have to pay School fees of our children and handle the expenditures of our house. How will we do that?” said the staff
