In the corona pandemic, the medical workers were given the title of Frontline Warriors and they deserve to get such titles as they are the only hope for common people. Many medical workers have not seen their families for months and many of them haven’t returned to their homes as they are fighting 24*7 with this pandemic.

Among such medical workers, there is a medical worker Irshad Ahmad Zailgar who’s a Pharmacist in Batote and for the last 1 year, he is working continuously without availing a single leave. On average Irshad collects samples of more than 100 people daily. While talking to the media Irshad said “there are chances that he can get infected by the virus but with god’s grace he is safe. People at their level are helping the corona patients and I’m associated with the medical department so I’m just fulfilling my duty. God should keep his blessings on me so that I can continue my duty.”

Irshad’s duty hours start at 10 am and from that time only he starts taking samples through RT-PCR or RAT tests. Also, he helps doctors in operation theatres during emergencies. In 2017 he lost his father and in 2019 he lost his mother after which the burden of the family came on his shoulders. Last year on Independence Day he was honored.
