In some relief for consumers on New Year, National Oil Marketing companies have slashed the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder cost by Rs 102.50 effective from January 1, 2022.
The 19 kg commercial cylinder will cost Rs 1998.50 in Delhi from today, sources said.
It will provide some relief to restaurants, eateries, tea stalls, etc., which constitute the largest user segment of the 19 kg cylinder.
Last month on December 1, prices of 19 Kg LPG cylinders were increased by Rs 100, bringing the prices of 19 kg commercial cylinders to Rs 2,101 in Delhi, which was the second-highest price of 19 kg commercial cylinder after 2012-13 when it cost around Rs 2,200 per cylinder.
However, there is no decrease in prices of other domestic cylinders weighing 14.2 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, or 5 kg composite cylinders, and their prices remain the same.
Earlier on November 1, 19 kg Commercial cylinder prices saw a steep rise of Rs 266, increasing the prices to Rs 2,000.50.
A 19-kg cylinder, following the new rate cut, will cost Rs 1,998.50 as against Rs 2,101 in Delhi.
LPG Cylinder rate is revised monthly for all the states and union territories in India. Earlier on October 1, prices of 19kg cylinders were increased by Rs 43, and on October 6, Rs 2.50 decreased in 19 kg commercial cylinder. On September 1, the costs of 19kg cylinder were increased by Rs 75.
Three terrorists affiliated with LeT, TRF held in J-K’s Ganderbal
Ganderbal Police along with the teams of 24 Rashtriya Rifles and 115 Batallion of CRPF on Friday arrested three terrorists who are allegedly affiliated with proscribed outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), the Resistance Front (TRF), said a statement by the Indian army on Saturday.
Two pistols, three magazines, and two Chinese grenades were recovered from the accused persons, added the statement.
The three were identified as Faisal Manzoor, a resident of Braripora Shopian, Azhar Yaqoob, a resident of Zaipora, Shopian, and Nasir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Begam Kulgam, as per the statement.
“During preliminary questioning, the three revealed their affiliation with proscribed outfit LeT/TRF and indulgence in various terror-related activities in the district,” said the statement.
An FIR had been registered and further investigation is underway.
Former Minister, Pahari Tribe ST Forum delegation call on Lt Governor
Several delegations including former Minister; members of Pahari Tribe ST Forum and Youth leader from Bhaderwah today called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan.
Sh. Abdul Ghani Kohli, former Minister met the Lt Governor and projected various welfare issues of Gujjar and Bakerwal communities pertaining to proper arrangements for Gujjar & Bakwerwal population in view of the winter season; tribal funds; Insurance for sheep; spreading awareness among Gujjar and Bakerwal communities regarding welfare policies & schemes, besides other concerns of the general public.
Meanwhile, a three-member delegation of the Pahari Tribe ST Forum led by Adv. Ahsan Mirza and accompanied by Adv. Gurdev Singh Thakur and Sh. Sajjad Mirza submitted a memorandum of demands to the Lt Governor pertaining to ST status for Pahari people, functioning of Pahari Advisory Board and other concerning issues of Pahari youth.
Later, Advocate Mohammad Majid Malik, a youth leader from Bhaderwah also called on the Lt Governor and apprised him about various issues of Bhaderwah including the declaration of Jammu University campus into a full-fledged University; construction of Chattargalla tunnel; the opening of Bhaderwah-Chamba and Bhaderwah-Bani road; Mini Secretariat and several youth-related issues.
While interacting with the delegations, the Lt Governor observed that J&K Government has adopted citizen-centric policies and is steadfastly working on all fronts for the development and welfare of people belonging to every community.
We are committed to making every section of society an equal stakeholder in the development process of the UT, the Lt Governor said.
The Lt Governor assured the members of the delegations that the genuine issues put forth by them would be given due consideration. He impressed upon them to keep projecting the issues of public welfare and development of the region.

Indian Army Recruitment 2022: The Indian Army has issued a notification for unmarried male and unmarried female Law graduates for grant of Short Service Commission in the Army for Judge Advocate General Branch.
According to the official website, the notification states that the selected officer will be on probation for a period of six months from the date he/she receives his/her commission.
“If he/she is reported on within the probationary period as unsuitable to retain his/her commission, his/her services may be terminated any time whether before or after the expiry of the probationary period,” the notification read.
