Chief Minister chaired a high-level review meeting of the Mining Department today, focusing on strengthening mining governance through technology-driven reforms.

The meeting discussed the implementation of the Integrated Mining Surveillance System (IMSS) for real-time monitoring, transparency, and accountability in mining operations across Jammu and Kashmir.

The Chief Minister directed officials to take strict and immediate action against illegal mining activities. He emphasized enhanced field surveillance through Quick Response Teams (QRTs) and district-level control rooms to curb violations effectively.

Highlighting the need for sustainable growth, the Chief Minister also called for responsible and scientific exploration of mineral resources, particularly lithium, lignite, and sapphire, to boost J&K’s mineral economy and generate employment opportunities.
