Jammu, Jan 20: Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, will begin pre-budget consultations with administrative departments from Tuesday in preparation for the 2026–27 budget session.

According to the Finance Department’s itinerary, the Chief Minister will hold meetings with 24 departments over three days, including eight departments under his direct charge. On January 20, he is scheduled to meet officials from these eight departments, while meetings with departments headed by other cabinet ministers are set for January 21 and 22.

Ministers, the Chief Secretary, the Advisor to the Chief Minister, and administrative secretaries have been asked to attend the consultations.

The Jammu & Kashmir budget for 2026–27 is scheduled to be presented by CM Omar Abdullah in the Assembly on February 6. This will mark the second budget he is presenting personally, following the previous session’s budget presented on March 7, 2025.
