In the last 2 weeks, both the armies of India and China have started clearing major areas of Ladakh. The mechanism which was decided by the higher officials of both the armies is now given a proper face. Chinese troops have started clearing the Finger 4 area on the North bank of the Pangong Tso. As per the sources, the disengagement will be completed by this week.
In the past 7-8 months, China has not only built heavy defenses and structures between finger 8 to finger 4 but has also deployed numerous soldiers. The first picture of soldiers leaving the major areas went viral on 10th February and by today much areas have been cleared by both armies. Once that disengagement at Pangong lake is complete the higher officials of both the armies will again hold talks to disengage the ships deployed by both Countries to patrol the area and within 1 week the lake will be cleared.
Also, in the other areas where India was having the advantage of height and China has stored heavy arms and ammunition, those areas will also be cleared in the coming days. According to the official in the next 6-7 days, complete disengagement from both sides will be seen.
Earlier the Defence Ministers of both the Nations have decided that the disengagement will take place mutually and after every step, a review meeting will take place.
