Vijaypur Municipal Committee Chairman, Deepak Kumar was attacked by some unknown people in Gagor. The incident took place around 11 pm at night when he along with his family was on his way back home.
“I often go to Peer Baba at Gagor and do seva there. Last night while I was returning home with my family, suddenly there was stone pelting on my car’s front glass. My PSO stepped out to watch the matter. No one was around. It was a like a threat to me and could be worse if the stone was hit hard. I was worried about my family including my little kids. They all were afraid.” Kumar said.
“After the incident, I went to Vijaypur Police Station to file FIR. My complaint was registered but the official didn’t check my car even after requesting. In fact, didn’t give me SHO’s contact number. This behaviour with a known person like me is unexpected. I took my car and made my family reach home safely.” He added
Kumar complained about the increasing crimes in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the Police needs to be extra alert for the matter.
“The increasing crimes in J&K aren’t good signs. Today I got attacked, tomorrow someone else could be a target. Besides being the Chairman, I’m a member of BJP. I do social work and have no personal grudges with anyone. I still cannot understand why I was targeted? I trust SHO to solve this matter quickly but I request UT’s police officials to be a little more alert for the crimes and our LG Sir to take some actions on this.” He added
