Delay Controversy: ‘If Not Intentional, Then What?’ Tavir Sadiq Slams ‘Deliberate Delay’ in Recruitment Process

December 6, 2025
Srinagar, December 6: Asif Rashid Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has urged the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) to postpone the examination scheduled for tomorrow on 7th December (Sunday). The appeal comes amid growing concerns raised by aspirants regarding inadequate preparation time and logistical difficulties faced across UT after LG Sinha Clarifies JKPSC Exam File Issue; Says Social Media Claims Misleading. According to the Chief Minister's letter the administration must ensure that no candidate is deprived of a fair opportunity due to unavoidable circumstances. He emphasized that conducting an important competitive examination under such conditions may lead to unnecessary stress and inconvenience for thousands of students. Omar Abdullah requested JKPSC to review the situation on humanitarian grounds and reschedule the exam to a more suitable date. He added that the government remains committed to safeguarding the interests of youth and ensuring transparency and fairness in the recruitment process. The ball is now in JKPSC’s court as candidates await an official announcement regarding the postponement.

The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today concluded its session with the passage of a key financial reform measure — the J&K Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2025. The Jammu and Kashmir Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2025 was passed in the Legislative Assembly through a voice vote following a brief discussion. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who had moved the Bill earlier in the day, provided clarifications on its key provisions before the House took up the vote. The Chief Minister said the amendment would align the UT’s tax framework with the latest recommendations of the GST Council, ensuring greater compliance and smoother tax administration. After the brief deliberations, the Speaker announced the passage of the Bill, marking it as the final legislative business of the day in the House. Members from both the ruling and opposition benches welcomed the smooth conduct of proceedings, calling it a positive step for fiscal reform and governance stability in Jammu and Kashmir.
