Military analysts say the reactor, once operational, could be capable of producing weapons-grade plutonium—providing Iran with an alternate path to nuclear weapon capability apart from uranium enrichment. While Israel has not provided specific details about the mission, it claimed that the strike was part of its ongoing campaign to neutralize threats stemming from Iranian military infrastructure. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) also issued evacuation warnings in Farsi to residents of Arak and Khondab, urging civilians to leave the area for their own safety. The Iranian government has condemned the strike as an act of aggression and warned of serious consequences. Iranian media reports say civilian areas near the Khondab site sustained damage, although no official casualty figures have been released so far. The OIC meeting is expected to produce a joint resolution denouncing Israeli actions and calling for de-escalation in the region. Some member states are reportedly pushing for diplomatic outreach to the United Nations to seek broader international intervention. This latest development adds a significant geopolitical dimension to the conflict, as regional and global powers closely monitor the unfolding situation.
