‘Call of duty’: LG Sinha wins hearts after he skipped son’s wedding to attend PM’s all-party meet

Several netizens took to Twitter to hail Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Union of Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, for his outstanding commitment towards public service after it was revealed that the Manoj Sinha had skipped his son’s wedding to attend the crucial all-party meeting with Prime Minister to discuss the future of Jammu and Kashmir.

Social media users highlighted that J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha was present at the all-party meeting with Prime Minister Modi on Thursday at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi, which was held on the same day as his son’s wedding.

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an important with the various stakeholders of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to discuss the future developmental process to be initiated in the state. In the 3-hour meeting with political leaders of Jammu and Kashmir, PM Modi and several other leaders spoke about the way ahead for Jammu and Kashmir.

Manoj Sinha, who is currently the first citizen of the Union Territory, in his official capacity as the Lieutenant Governor of Union of Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, had participated in the all-party meeting held in PM Modi’s official residence in the national capital on Thursday.

However, only a handful of people knew that the Manoj Sinha had come straight out of his son’s wedding to attend the crucial meeting. It is being said that only after the completion of the meeting with PM Modi, Manoj Sinha left the Prime Minister’s residence to reach the wedding venue.

Senior BJP leaders and Union Ministers attended the wedding and posted the images of the event later in the day.
As the news surfaced that Manoj Sinha had not attended his son’s wedding to be at PM Modi’s residence to discuss the issues of Jammu and Kashmir, netizens hailed his commitment towards the development of the union territory and the country.

Several netizens paid their respects to Manoj Sinha for staying away from his family on one of the most important days of his personal life.

Manoj Sinha, who was the Minister of State for Railways in the first Modi government, was appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir by President Ram Nath Kovind on August 6, 2020. He replaced former IAS officer Girish Chandra Murmu who was appointed as the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.

Manoj Sinha was also in charge of the Telecom ministry under the Modi government. The three-time from Ghazipur had lost the 2019 general elections to BSP’s Afzal Ansari.

High alert at Jammu-Kashmir National Highway, strict checking in Kathua

Two mysterious flying objects suspected to be drones that were spotted at Birpur Kaluchak area of Jammu and Nihalpur in Kathua on Friday by the local youth have prompted the security agencies to go on high alert.

The video of the drones captured by the locals soon became viral. A quick reaction team of the police swung into action and shot it down using anti-drone strategy in the early hours.

Apart from Kathua, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has put nakas at all the entry points of the UT and the National borders. The security forces are led by SSP Kathua along with Kathua Police and SOG team.

The Administration has directed for the information inputs. Any information by the locals shall be taken into consideration and investigated.

The security forces have appealed the public and passerby people to co-operate with the checking on the Highways.

Since the drone attack at the Jammu Airforce airbase on June 27, several drones have been spotted on multiple locations in Jammu in the last month and the strict checking at the Police nakas is ongoing.

Youth in Kathua Stage Protest Against SHO, Kathua, Demands Termination

Yesterday a Councillor got engaged with a JK Police Officer. The Councillor has reached to review a protest by the Shiv Nagar, Kathua, over the power cuts. The protestors have blocked the National Highway. The police officer asked the protestors to stage their protest off the road and not block the Highway. But, on numerous requests by the police, the protestors didn’t leave the road then the police started dragging the protestors from the road.

On Saturday, the youngsters of Kathua protested against Kathua Police and blocked the road. According to the youngsters, the SHO has misbehaved with the Councillor. A police party tried to resolve the matter, but the protestors didn’t agree. The Councillor demanded that the SHO apologize for his actions in front of the media or be suspended.

While talking to the media, a Sarpanch said, “yesterday’s incident was very shameful. The people elected the Councillor, and the SHO dragged him like an offender. The locals were protesting only to demand their rights. They were not doing anything illegal. We criticize the incident and demand that the SHO should be suspended. If he treats the Councillor this way, then how he treats the common public”.

Yasha Mudgal chairs Board meeting of Jammu Central Co-op Bank Ltd to sanction a 100 Crores Loan for Govt backed JKIDFC

Managing Director, Jammu Central Cooperative Bank apprised the meeting about the various components and the present status of the physical and financial achievements of the bank. He also highlighted the various issues pertaining to the dealing with disbursement of loans of agriculture, horticulture and Cooperative sectors.

On the occasion, the members of Professional Board of Directors of Jammu Central Cooperatives Bank Limited also spoke and gave their valuable suggestions to further improving the working of the bank and also agreed with the Chairman for sanctioning 100 cr rupees loan to JKIDFC Ltd, considering it a good business opportunity backed by irrevocable and unconditional guarantee by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. The board unanimously decided that bank should sanction and release the said term loan in favour of JKIDFC subject to compliances of the observations raised by the Directors during the deliberations.
Secretary directed the MD to follow guidelines of RBI, and NABARD . With the sanctioning of the said term loan of Rs. 100 crores, the CD ratio of the bank will improve substantially and NPA ratio will come down. This will also lead to an increase in the interest income of the bank with good returns. The bank which is reeling under losses year after year , will be immensely benefitted with this regular income which will result in its operating income going up and losses getting reduced .
