Budget 2021: FM Nirmala Sitharaman announcement for women

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has begun delivering her Budget speech that is expected to provide relief to the pandemic-hit common man as well as focus more on driving the economic recovery through higher spending on healthcare, infrastructure and defence amid rising tensions with neighbours.

While presenting the Union Budget 2021-22, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that women will be allowed to work in all shifts, including night shift with adequate protection, in all sectors.
She further said that minimum wages will apply to all categories of workers. She added that social security benefit will be extended to platform and gig workers.
